Bio
Myra was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and has lived in Los Angeles for more than five years. In Maryland, she worked as a preschool teacher and as an academic coach for students with learning disabilities. She received a BA in child development at Mount Saint Mary's University here in LA and earned her Master's in Education at UCLA. She has taught 2nd and 3rd grade here in Los Angeles. She particularly enjoys teaching math, and is passionate about helping children to love math and writing. Myra's hobbies include reading, especially mysteries; listening to and singing all kinds of music; exploring flea markets and thrift stores; and doing crafts, especially beading and jewelry-making. She is also an eager amateur photographer and loves exploring and photographing places that are unique to Los Angeles and California. Her favorite ice cream is coffee toffee crunch, her favorite color is red, and she loves cats of all kinds, especially tigers.
